The type samples (shown above), as well as the text you are reading now, are normal text as supported by HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), the language of the World Wide Web.
This is the type of text you should use for the main body of your webpages.
This text will appear in different fonts and different sizes on various combinations of Web browsers and computer platforms. Most web browsers will handle the font sizes shown here, and most will support different colors for the type.
Click here to see a sampler of the standard 216 browser-safe colors.
These are non-dithering colors which remain basically the same on most browsers and platforms. These colors may be used for the backgrounds or text on any page. You may use different colors for the main body text, the link color and the expired link color. In addition most of the newest browsers allow individual areas of text to be colored.
If you do not see the above text samples in their labeled colors, you are in need of upgrading your web browser to a much less antiquated version. The two top preforming browsers in general use are Netscape Navigator (ver. 3.0 or better), and Microsoft Internet Explorer (ver. 3.0 or above). Here is a link to Netscape and their browsers.

Places to use graphic text:
- Whenever it is important for text to look the same to all viewers, or to be in a specific font (such as in a logo), then you should consider making limited use of graphic text.
- Graphic text is very effective when used at the head of a page or to divide major sections when long scrolling pages are used.
- The use of graphic text is also indicated wherever you want to draw attention to a particular section of a document or to a particular idea.
- Graphic text can also help liven up a webpage wherever it is used. Pages and pages of normal text, unrelieved with graphics, can quickly become very boring.
- Graphic text is also very effective when used on banners.

A few examples of Graphic Text follow:
This is a sample (red text on the left) of small text made into a graphic, it is probably the smallest size Graphic text that you should consider using. Graphic text much below this size tends to fall-off in detail when viewed on the average computer monitor.
