This is a selected
sampling of our current portfolio. We offer a full range of services
starting with concept of design, and progressing through the creation and optimization
of graphics used in the presentation.
The
following are active links, just click on them and browse around to see different
styles of website design. There is everything here from very traditional (conservative)
design, to some very exciting uses of color and design.
We have set up the links so that they will open a new window to the
site you are visiting, when you are finished looking at the site and want to go back
to our portfolio, simply close the new window and the window with our portfolio will
still be there. We have placed notes below many of the links pointing out features
we feel are important in good Web page design. At the bottom of the page is a list
of projects we are currently working on, as well as a list of projects we have worked
on.
Seal Cove Auto Museum
The Seal Cove Auto Museum site is a great example of a site that does well with a
black background. The photos of the vehicles with their warm colors and brass and
chrome highlights are richly enhanced by the deep black background. The intent was
to provide an elegant presentation for a collection of classic vehicles.
A large and important part of this site are the wonderful photographs which are used
throughout its pages. We used our expertise in digital imaging to optimize them for
fast downloading, while retaining a maximum amount of detail and color. The enlarged
detail photos of each vehicle open into small pop-up windows which float above the
currently viewed page. Finally, the navigation is clean and consistent throughout
the site. |
Chesapeake
Safe Harbor
Chesapeake
Safe Harbor is a very active website. Itis designed to be very easily updated with
new information added on a weekly basis with a minimal amount of effort.
This site features the use of color, both to enhance the visual appearance of the
site, and to help organize and make large amounts of text easier to read. For an example
of this, see the FAQs - Questions & Answers page.
The navigation is simple and straight forward, it remains the same from one section
to another, and the changing colors of the links shows viewers where they have already
been. Hyperlink navigation like this also helps the pages to download quickly.

Bruce
Laukka, Incorporated
This homepage starts off with "Welcome to Bruce Laukka, Inc. - Premier builder
for mid-coast Maine and off shore islands." It then goes on to provide an ever
expanding portfolio of work in both residential and commercial venues.
The basic navigation of the Project Portfolios is achieved through clickable links
superimposed above a map of the coastline. This very graphic form of navigation
quickly orients the viewer as to the location of each project site. The
portfolios present each of the projects by means of high quality photographs, which
are optimized for the best possible presentation on the web, and quick downloading.
The site features an interesting use of colors and a layout which focuses attention
on the actual projects themselves, and does not distract the viewer. Navigation on
the site is clean and intuitive, the viewer is never more than a click away from any
of the project directories.

Captain Jack Lobster Boat Adventure
The Captain Jack Lobster Boat Adventure website The overall color scheme used in this site was taken from a number of the photos used throughout the site. The main navigation is a simple css menu, with the selection highlighting as the cursor passes over it. There is also a secondary, hyperlinked text navigation system repeated at the bottom of each page. The overall design is very clean and sharp, and has a consistency throughout the site..
|
Rice's
Piano Service
This website has a very graphic black and white layout suggested by the keys on a
piano. This theme is reinforced by the use of a section of a keyboard for the main
navigation, with each key acting as a link to a section of the website. There is also
a secondary, hyperlinked text navigation system repeated at the bottom of each page.
The overall design is very clean and sharp, and presents the client's content with
a minimum of distraction.
Like most of our sites, the overall page. and HTML code layout is designed for quick
and easy updating of the site, whether on a regular basis, or a yearly expansion as
the web-based portion of the business grows. This type of design helps keeps the costs
down to our clients, which usually results in more frequent updating, which in turn,
makes the site itself much more productive.

Ridge Mist Llama & Alpaca Supplies
The Ridge
Mist Llama & Alpaca Supply site is the web version of their printed catalog.
adapted to work as a web presentation. It
is a very large site which features full color photos of all of their supplies.
The site is updated with new products and photos on a regular basis. It is much easier
(and less expensive) to keep a website current than the printed version of the catalog.
This site does not use a shopping cart at the present time, although it is an option
in the future.

C.H.
Becksvoort
This site
was designed in such a way as to let the beauty and elegance of Chris's work speak
for itself. To this end we used a simple, low-key navigation system, coupled with
an uncrowded design style and a soft, unobtrusive background.
The site features the finest in individually built Shaker and contemporary cherry
furniture. Clean and subtle designs for cases, tables, chairs, beds, desks, lighting
and accessories, utilizing the highest quality of traditional joinery, craftsmanship
and materials.

Fine
Home Construction
Many websites are actually online portfolios. They are a very good way in which one
can present a lot of graphic material for potential clients to view at their own convenience.
Presenting
this type of material online is much less expensive than having it printed in full
color, and it is easy, and relatively inexpensive to add or subtract material to keep
the site current.
|
Digitry
Company, Inc.
This site was designed to provide information on their products, as well as to help
with customer support. Full manuals for all of their equipmentis available online
in the form of downloadable PDFs. This is a major advantage for the customer, as they
can compare models and specifications, as well as get an overview of how the controllers
operate... before they make a purchase.
The navigation on this site is accomplished through the use of a hyper-linked menu
at the bottom of each page. |
The
Farnsworth Art Museum
This is one of our earliest websites. It features a low key design with easy navigation.
This site is updated monthly to keep up with changing exhibitions, classes, etc. It
has been called "elegant and understated, just like the museum." A very nice compliment.
This site is now maintained internally by The Farnsworth staff. |
Johanson
Boatworks
An excellent
example of very clean design and superb, yet unobtrusive navigation. Note the graphic
navigation bar at the top of each page, coupled with a hypertext set of links at the
bottom of each page.
This site is designed to be easily expanded with the addition of new pages linked
from the subdirectory on the "Sampling of Our Boats" section. Also featured
is a rather extensive information gathering form on the "Sailing Resume"
page. This
site is now maintained internally by the client.
